Romans 8:32
He that spared not His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?

Our 1st Garden EVER! main

After the girls kept asking and asking to have our own garden, we decided to go ahead and plant a small garden. So, Jason gathered some boards that we had laying around and created ourselves a raised bed type garden. It ended up being 10x12. Although Tobias LOVES helping his Dad, he still does not like those tool noises...he's holding his ears. Then, we asked if our neighbors, the Shrocks, would either help or could we borrow their tractor to move some top soil. Jason was more than excited that they let us borrow the BIG John Deere!!!
We planned it all out so that when Grandpop and Grandmom Coon came for their visit, they could help get it all started! So, we layed down newspaper to kill the grass and help prevent weeds.
Jason then made trips back and forth filling the garden, and the workers took out the big rocks, roots and weeds. Grandpop took the hard job of reading the comics!
Dirt and tractors...FUN, FUN, FUN!YES! Grandpop DID get his work shoes on and get in there and shovel the dirt for us! Everyone else had a blast doing their own thing!...even Susie(the dog) had to be a part!
Holly, Grandmom, and Emily thoroughly enjoyed planting the garden together! Grandmom was a HUGE help, and Grandpop...well he's keeping everyone in line back there!
Tobias and Sari...buddies!
What we planted in our garden: sunflowers on the back wall, popcorn from Johnson's farm in NJ (complements of Grandpop Worrell), 5 Mountain Spring tomato plants, 3 green calif wander pepper, 3 red night pepper, and 2 yellow sensation pepper plants(from Martins). A row of potatoes, onions, carrots and strawberries. 3 kinds of leaf lettus: 3 red romaine, 3 black seeded simpson and 3 butternut ? (from GH), then 6 market moore cucumber, and 1 cantaloupe cluster(from WM). And of course Grandpop and Grandmom had the girls pick out the flowers to make the garden complete.
We look forward to our first go of it! I'm sure we will have to make changes next year, but hey, we did it and now we have somewhere to go from! Here's what it looks like now! Isn't it cute!?
